Division IV:

NC Uses Big D To Stifle Ottawa Hills In Ohio Div 4

First-team All-Ohioan Matt Dawson led a balanced attack with 11 points and top-ranked Newark Catholic inched closer to its first-ever title with a defense-fueled 48-36 victory over Toledo Ottawa Hills in a Division IV state semifinal on Friday.

James Moerman added 10 points and Phil Taylor and Nate Adams, who grabbed 11 rebounds, chipped in nine apiece for the Green Wave (25-1). They led by three points after each of the first two quarters, then pulled away with an 8-1 run to start the third. Ottawa Hills never got closer than seven points again.
     
Lucas Janowicz had nine points and second-team all-stater Eliot Browarsky was limited to eight for the Green Bears (24-2), who hit just 34 percent from the field for the game and were 1 of 12 on 3-pointers.

Division III:

Lima CC Holds Off Orville For First Ohio Title

Austin Stolly scored 16 points and Lima Central Catholic held off a furious rally to claim its first boys state basketball title with a 60-57 win over Orrville Saturday in the Ohio Division III championship at Value City Arena.
     
Desi Kirkman added 14 points, five rebounds and six assists in the win for the Thunderbirds.
     
Lima (23-4) led by as many as 14 points and held a nine-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter, but Orrville's Zach

Wasson scored 10 points in the final quarter. Wasson missed a three-pointer that would have tied the game in the final seconds. The Thunderbirds made 18 of 26 free throws (69.2 percent) while Orville was just 10 of 19 from the line (52.6 percent)
     
Joey Bescanson and Jacob Bolyard led Orrville (21-6) with 14 points each.

Division II:

Dayton Dunbar Beats Port Clinton for Ohio D2 Title

Geron Johnson scored 24 points and handed
out seven assists as Dayton Dunbar defeated Port Clinton 64-50 Saturday in the Division II Ohio boys basketball championship at Value City Arena.
     
It's the fourth state championship for Dunbar (25-3), who also won in 1987, 2006 and 2007. It was Port Clintons first appearance in the state tournament.
     
Johnson scored 14 points in the second half, when Dunbar bounced back from a one-point halftime deficit. Dunbar outscored Port Clinton 16-10 in the third quarter, and 22-13 in the fourth.
     
Derek Colston and Ryan Hicks combined for 23 of Port Clinton's points in the first half. Colston capped off a 13-point half with a three-pointer at the buzzer that gave the Redskins a 27-26 halftime lead. They each finished with 15 points to lead the Redskins (26-1).

Ryan Bass scored 13 points for Dunbar and Deon Stewart added 10 in the win.

Division I:

Mass Jackson Beats Cin Moeller For Ohio DI Title

Massillon Jackson broke open a close game with a huge third quarter and rolled to a 57-34 win over Cincinnati Moeller in the Division I state championship at Value City Arena.
     
Jackson (25-2) outscored Moeller 24-5 in the third quarter and held the Crusaders scoreless for almost seven minutes Saturday to take a 24-point lead going into the final quarter.
     
Mark Henniger led Jackson with 21 points and 12 rebounds, as the Polar Bears claimed their first state title. Michael Shull added 17 points, Brad DuPont had 11 points and 5 assists and Josh Egner grabbed 10 rebounds.
     
In the third, Jackson made 11-of-15 field-goal attempts while the Crusaders made just 2-of-13 field goals.
     
Jackson led 20-15 at the half.
     
Griffin McKenzie led Moeller (22-5) with nine points.
