Hilliard Man Electrocuted While Fixing Generator

Authorities said a Hilliard-area man was electrocuted Monday while trying to repair a generator at a state juvenile detention center.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Fred Caceres, the owner of Mid State Generator Sales & Service, was killed shortly before 1 a.m.

A co-worker, Brent Adams, was burned while working on the generator. He was transported to The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus in serious condition.

Caceres, 59, and Adams were called to the Scioto Juvenile Correctional Facility after strong winds knocked out a generator on Sunday.

Across the U.S., authorities have reported a total of 32 deaths in nine states as Ike moved from Texas northeastward across the U.S. midsection. A total of six deaths have been reported in Ohio.
