Sign of the side of Spartans Stadium commemorating the first night game in Portsmouth history on September 24, 1930. While the Spartans did host Brooklyn on that day under the lights, the NFL credits the first night game in league history to Providence (Steam Roller), which welcomed the Chicago Cardinals under illumination on Novemember 3, 1929.
