Carl Todhunter

Lancaster native Carl Todhunter has been with 10TV since 1995.

He said he has been fortunate enough to cover a wide range of stories at WBNS-TV, including the TWA Flight 800 plane crash, the "Jeopardy!" tournament of champions, three Country Music Awards ceremonies, coverage of the Pentagon after 9/11 and Hurricane Bonnie.

Todhunter, an Ashland College graduate, started his career as a weekend editor for WSYX-TV in 1988.  He was hired as a full-time videographer in 1992 before coming to 10TV.

Although he has many favorite stories, Todhunter said his most memorable was traveling to Australia to photograph background stories to tie into "Survivor: Outback." He met David Hudson and the late Steve Irwin, who explained what the contestants could face in the wildlife arena.

Todhunter plays indoor volleyball and softball on several teams, and enjoys weight training. He also enjoys reading history books, especially around the Civil War period.

1998: Regional Emmy award for "Deadbeat Dads."
Also: Multiple Emmy nominations, several placements in the Ohio News Photographers Association, a couple placements in the Society of Professional Journalists.
