AJ Smith joined the 10TV News HD weekend team as a meteorologist in September 2009.
An East Coast native, AJ graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University and also attended New York University, where she received her professional certificate in television news production.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences at Mississippi State University. She is a member of the National Weather Association (NWA) and American Meteorological Society (AMS) and holds an AMS Seal of Approval.
AJ forecasted the weather in Albuquerque, N.M., Tyler, Texas and Grand Junction, Colo. before joining 10TV.
Smith has won top industry awards, including being part of a team that was honored with an Edward R. Murrow award. She also received a first place Public Service Award from the New Mexico Associated Press Broadcasters.
