Andrea Cambern joined WBNS-TV in 1991, and is one of the most recognized members of the 10TV news team.
Andrea anchors the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. editions of 10TV News HD and is an award-winning journalist. She has been honored with six Emmy awards for her anchoring and reporting skills, was named Female Anchor of the Year by the National Association of Television Journalists and has received honors from the Associated Press for her broadcast writing, spot news coverage and medical documentaries. Andrea is a member of the Ohio Radio and Television Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and YWCA Women of Achievement Academy.
Cambern is also an advocate for health and wellness. She created and champion's the station's well-known "Commit to be Fit" initiative and devotes much of her personal time to organizations that promote wellness and women's issues.
Andrea serves on the board of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Central Ohio, the Advisory Committee of Girl Scouts Seal of Ohio, and on the Public Education Task Force of the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence. She is a founding member of the American Heart Association's "Circle of Red Society." She has been recognized for her advocacy by The James Cancer Hospital, the Central Ohio Diabetes Association and the National Council of Jewish Women.
Cambern is a contributing writer for Capital Style Magazine and Guest Editor for the 2010 edition of The Women's Book.
Before joining WBNS, Andrea worked at television stations in Tucson and Phoenix, Ariz . Prior to her career in broadcast journalism, Andrea owned her own public relations firm. She attended Arizona State University.
