Pickerington S.R. 256 Roadwork


A construction project to rehabilitate three bridges on I-70 is set to begin on Monday, July 8 at the SR 256 interchange. The project includes five weekend lane closures at various locations on I-70 and one weekend ramp closure for motorists exiting I-70 for northbound S.R. 256.

Weekend traffic will be impacted on I-70 for the rehabilitation of the bridges spanning S.R. 256, Blacklick Creek, and Palmer Rd. and major delays are expected.

On the weekends listed below, I-70 east and westbound will be restricted to one lane of traffic. The final weekend also includes an exit ramp closure. The weekend restrictions will begin Fridays at 7 p.m. and conclude by 4 a.m. on Mondays.

-    Exit 112B closed. Alternate exit is 112C, detour signs provided.
Significant delays of traffic may occur and motorists are urged to plan ahead to avoid delays. Alternative routes of travel to avoid such delays are posted for motorists traveling east or westbound on I-70.

Alternative routes:
ò    I-70 westbound: take exit 126 for S.R. 37 north to S.R. 161 west, to I-270 south.
ò    I-70 eastbound: take I-270 north to S.R. 161 east, to S.R. 37 south to enter I-70.

Construction will proceed on the east and westbound shoulders of I-70 throughout the duration of the project with nighttime restrictions occurring as well.

The completion date is August 30th, 2014. (ODOT)
