"The Dream Is Back" In 2012 With 60th Anniversary BIA Parade of Homes

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Sixty years of tradition and excellence returns to central Ohio, June 16-July 1 with the 2012 Building Industry Association (BIA) of Central Ohio's Parade of Homes. The very latest home designs and products will be on display for guests at The Meadows at Lewis Center, a Silvestri Homes community in Orange Township. Orange Township is located in ever-expanding Delaware County, adjacent to Franklin County line and an easy drive to the shopping and entertainment of Polaris Parkway.

This year, in honor of its 60th anniversary, the parade will feature a distinctive nod to its 1952 birthday by featuring the crisp elegance of mid-century design and the best of the era: welcoming homes that celebrate the American dream. Parade guests can tour 12 spectacular homes designed and constructed by a dozen of the area's top builders. Each home showcases the most exciting designs, with each room boasting modern furnishings and the latest in home technology.

The BIA Parade of Homes has been exciting prospective home buyers, builders and fans for six decades, with the very first tour taking place in 1952. The parade typically draws as many as 40,000 visitors each year. Given the up tick in the housing market, even more are expected in 2012. Despite the fact that the parade is still months away, one of the 12 homes has already been sold.

Dates & Hours: The Parade kicks of Friday, June 15 with an exclusive preview party from 6-10 p.m.

Parade hours are: Monday-Saturday: Noon - 9 p.m.; Sunday: Noon - 6 p.m. Strollers are not allowed in the houses and pets are not permitted, with the exception of service animals.

Tickets: Tickets are $12 for adults and children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Guest parking is $2 per vehicle. VISA, MasterCard and American Express are accepted with ID. No tickets will be sold after one hour prior to closing.

Directions to the Parade: From I-270, take U.S. 23 North for approximately 6 miles. Turn right (east) onto Lewis Center Rd. Continue on Lewis Center Rd., crossing the railroad tracks. The Meadows at Lewis Center will be on the left (north) side of Lewis Center Rd.
