Ring Around the Moon.

Got a lot of calls about this this morning. What's that big ring around the moon. It's called a halo. But what it means is that you are seeing the moon through cirrus (ice crystal) clouds. That gives it a halo. There’s an old folklore expression: “Ring around the moon, rain or snow coming soon.”  And so it is. We will be looking at rain (not snow!)  late today and through tomorrow.
