Zanesville Officer Asleep On Job Receives 1-Day Suspension

An officer will receive a one-day unpaid suspension for being caught sleeping on the job, The Zanesville Times Recorder reported.

According to the paper, Zanesville Police Chief Eric Lambes issued the suspension on Thursday for Officer Kyle Brooks.

Lambes told 10TV News on Jan. 18 that a picture of Brooks was snapped on Jan. 17 at about 5:30 a.m.

He said that Brooks was sleeping in his cruiser parked on Sixth Street, between Main and Marietta streets.

The chief said that it was the officer's first week on a new shift.
