Worthington Doctor Sentenced For Crash That Injured Bicyclist
A Worthington doctor was sentenced to 15 days in jail for charges related to a crash that seriously injured a bicyclist.
Dr. Elizabeth Unk pleaded guilty to Vehicular Assault and Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol.
"I wish more than anything that I could take back my actions from that night, but I'm trying to learn from what I've done next and tried to do the right thing since then," said Unk in court on Monday.
In September 2012, a bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by Unk along state Route 23 and Green Meadows Drive.
On Monday, a judge sentenced Unk to 16 days in jail, 400 hours of community service and $3,875 in fines. She will also have her license suspended for two year and be on probation for three years.
