A Columbus woman said burglars stole her dog from her North Columbus apartment.

Montia Miller said she has been a frequent victim of burglars.

"We get robbed so much," she said.

In the year or so Miller's lived at her apartment complex near Morse Road and Cleveland Avenue, she said she's been targeted by burglars four times.

"The first time we got robbed we were in the house sleeping," Miller said.

Miller said burglars targeted her car last week.

"My car was completely ransacked," she said.

Miller says later that day she went to work, and when she came back, she was shocked to find the crooks came back again. This time, they broke into her apartment.

At first, she just noticed some electronics missing.

"I was doing a walk-through and I'm like, Caddy's kind of quiet. And I look down at the cage and realized he's not there."

Caddy, her 4-year-old Shih Tzu, was stolen right out of his cage.

Miller said losing her dog was the final straw. She's already found another place to live.

"He's been in my life for four years," she said. "There was no reason to take somebody's dog. It's like taking a member of somebody's family."

Columbus Police said they searched the apartment for evidence, but found nothing.
