Woman Says She Was Attacked, Kidnapped In The Short North
A woman was recovering after she said she was attacked and kidnapped while in the Short North.
The woman, who requested anonymity, said that she had been at a bar with friends Saturday when she decided to leave early.
She said that she was waiting outside for a taxi when her nightmare began. The woman said that two men and a woman came out of nowhere and attacked her.
“I was struck in the back of the head and, next thing you know, I’m in a car being beaten and robbed,” she said.
The victim said that she was driven around the area while being beaten, fading in and out of consciousness.
“I was fighting for my life,” the woman said. “All I could think was to just keep fighting.”
The woman said that her terror ended along Weber Road when she was left beaten and bruised. The attackers got away with her cell phone and cash.
“It was just such a savage attack,” she said. “If all they wanted was a phone and some money they could have had that, but just to beat me for no reason.”
The victim said that she was physically and emotionally injured.
“I have to relive this, like, while I’m talking to you I can actually see this happening again,” she said.
The victim said that she did not know her attackers and had no idea why she was targeted.
Police said that they were investigating the incident and that they did not know of any other incidents like this.
