Woman Says Man Tried To Abduct Her While She Was Taking Out Trash
Police are searching for a man who reportedly assaulted and attempted to abduct a Lancaster woman.
A woman told police that the incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of East Sixth Avenue.
She told police that she was taking out the trash when the man approached her from behind, grabbed her and attempted to lift her off the ground.
The woman’s daughter called 911 minutes after the incident.
“He had put his hand over her mouth to try and stop her, but I guess she somehow managed to scream anyway and he dropped a brick he had gotten from her yard,” said the daughter to Lancaster police.
Police officers responded to the scene, but were unable to find the man that night.
Neighbors told 10TV they are now more cautious when going outside.
“It's surprising. It's surprising. But you know, you have people who do crazy things these days. You just have to be aware,” said neighbor Kristianne King.
Lancaster police are investigating the incident.
