Woman Pleads Not Guilty By Insanity In Daughter-In-Law's Alleged Kidnapping

A woman charged in the kidnapping of her estranged daughter-in-law and suspected in her death on Tuesday changed her plea to not guilty by reason of insanity.

Sandra Inman, her husband William A. Inman, and son, William A. Inman II, are suspected in the death of the younger Inman's estranged wife, Summer Inman.

All three have been charged with kidnapping, but no one has been charged in Summer Inman's death.

Summer Inman's body was found in a septic tank in Nelsonville in March.

New information released on Wednesday about a jailhouse discussion between William A. Inman and a fellow inmate showed that he got upset when asked if he played a role in his daughter-in-law's death.

According to court documents, William A. Inman said, "No matter how hard they try they will never find her, as long as my boy and wife stay strong."

The inmate asked him who he was talking about, and documents showed that William A. Inman said, "My boy's girl."

Sandra Inman led investigators to the body of her daughter in-law, after she told them Summer had been placed in a septic system behind a church near U.S. Route 33 in Nelsonville.
