Woman Found Dead Inside Burned New Lexington Home

The Ohio State Fire Marshal said that at least one person was killed in a fire on Friday.

Investigators said that the blaze occurred inside a home along Township Road 149 around 5 a.m. The New Lexington Fire Department notified the State Fire Marshal's Office around 5:53 a.m. about the fire.

Authorities said that the victim, 34-year-old Stacey Snellings, was found dead in her bedroom.

Snellings' mother smelled smoke and made it out of the home without injury.

The events leading to the fire were under investigation.
