Woman Accused of Embezzling More Than $200,000 From Columbus Business
Columbus Police say 32-year-old Crystal Nichols embezzled thousands of dollars from her former employer, GWF Co. & Sons.
Nichols is accused of spending $222,432 of the company’s money on goods and services for her personal benefit. Documents show she spent $9,276 on cosmetic surgery, $19,000 for construction on a former residence and $23,269 to Capital One.
The alleged thefts occurred between August 2010 and July 2013. Nichols is charged with theft from the elderly. She was in court Friday where a judge set her bond at $500,000.
According to court documents, the now-bankrupt company was owned by 75-year-old Gerald Fazekas.
