Witness testimony continued on Wednesday in the trial of a man accused of strangling his wife last year.

Investigators said that Summer Inman was abducted, strangled and dumped in an underground septic tank behind a church in nearby Athens County in March 2011.

Her estranged husband, William Inman II, and his parents have pleaded not guilty to murder charges and are being tried separately, 10TV’s Danielle Elias reported.

On Wednesday, witnesses recalled seeing the alleged getaway car parked near the church where Summer Inman was found.

“I thought it was odd, one, because it was backed in and, two, because there were two guys standing near the back door,” witness Chrystal Farris said.

The prosecution showed a video from a carwash in Akron, where two men and a woman, who matched the description of the Inman family, were seen meticulously cleaning a white Crown Victoria.

Prosecutors also showed paperwork showing a title transfer of a white Crown Victoria to William Inman Senior, just days before the video and Summer Inman’s disappearance, Elias reported.

Logan’s police Chief Aaron Miller described the moments from when Summer Inman disappeared.

“I had asked Will if he’d seen Summer. He stated the last time he had seen her was Thursday morning, that would have been March 17. I’m talking to him on the 23rd.”

Inman’s body was discovered along U.S. Route 33.

“Her hands were bound with a zip tie, and a zip tie had been placed around her neck,” Miller said.
