Winter Arrives In Ohio With Snow, Gusty Winds
Winter is announcing its presence with authority in Ohio.
Winter weather advisories were posted as a major storm moves through the state Friday - officially the first day of winter.
Strong winds and snow hit central and northeast Ohio. Forecasters were calling for 1 to 3 inches of snow -- or even more -- for other parts of the state.
A cold front and winds gusting up to 50 mph swept late Thursday night as the storm plodded across the Midwest - canceling thousands of flights and causing whiteout conditions in the hardest hit regions of Iowa and Wisconsin.
Ohio will stay cold after the storm passes through, with high temperatures in the 30s.
