Whitehall Police Look For Help Identifying Suspects In 2 Possibly-Related Abduction Cases

The Whitehall Division of Police is asking the public for help identifying suspects involved in a pair of abductions that occurred on June 6 and June 8.

At approximately 9 p.m. June 6, a 49-year-old female was stopped at the corner of East Main Street and South Hamilton Road for a red light when a white male suspect approached her vehicle, according to the department.

The suspect told her something was hanging down from her car and then proceeded to open the car door and jump inside.

He then grabbed the victim and told her that everything was going to be OK.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 20-25 years old, 5-10 to 5-11, with a slim build, short brown hair and a goatee. He may also be driving a dark colored Ford Explorer.

The victim, who 10TV News only identified as Lisa because of safety concerns, said that she was on her way home from work when she noticed a man gesturing toward her while she was stopped at a light.

"He started pointing at my car, and I rolled down the window to ask him what he was saying," Lisa said. "As I did that, he slowly started getting up and walking over, pointing at the bottom of my door light I had something hanging out."

She said that as she did that, he got in the car. She said she fought back.

"I opened my car door," Lisa said. "I was waving my arm out, yelling. I stuck my leg out, trying to pull away from him."

Dan Kelso with the Whitehall Police Department said that images show the man shopping with Lisa's credit cards, which he stole when he stole her purse.

"In all these pictures, he's wearing the same outfit," Kelso said. "This all occurred on the same day."

A similar incident occurred two nights later at the Walmart, located at 3657 E. Main St. According to the press release, a 62-year-old male was leaving his parked car when he was approached by a white male. The suspect pulled out a handgun and ordered him back into his car.

The suspect got into the car with the victim, followed by a second suspect who got into the backseat of the car, according to the release.

The two suspects forced the victim to drive to an ATM on South High Street and take out money. Upon taking the money from the victim, the first suspect punched the victim in the face and then fled on foot with the other suspect.

The suspect is described as a white male between 20-25 years old, 5-10 to 5-11, with a large build and brown hair and facial hair. The other suspect is shorter with a slim build and his race in unknown.

"(It's) a similar description, white male with some facial hair, brown hair, both incidents, he approaches a guy getting out of his car, this time he has a gun," Kelso said.

Lisa said she wants others to be on the lookout.

"I want other people to be alert," Lisa said.

Whitehall police are investigating both incidents as if they are possibly related and asking for any help from the public in identifying the suspects involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call Whitehall police.
