Westerville Residents Could Face 3 Rate Hikes Next Year

Residents in Westerville could soon pay more for water, sewer and trash collection.

City council is considering three separate proposals.

If approved, water rates would increase by a minimum of 6.1 percent.

The rate increases would help pay for upgrades at the city's water treatment plant.

Council is also considering a 2 percent increase for sewer rates and a 1.41 percent rate hike for trash collection.

If all three rates are approved, the average Westerville customer would pay an extra $2.60 a month.
