The former West Licking Joint Fire District chief is appealing his termination.

Board members voted 4-1 earlier this month to terminate Chief David Fulmer after an investigation found he violated the district's Internet and email policy by downloading documents that contained sensitive information, including Social Security numbers.

Fulmer filed a lawsuit on Nov. 16 challenging his termination on the grounds the board had no evidence to support its decision.
