Waves Of Grief Continue As Funerals Held For First 2 Shooting Victims
The Connecticut town where a gunman killed 20 children and six adults in a school last week has said goodbye with the first two funerals.
Services were held Monday for Jack Pinto and Noah Pozner, both 6. Jack was a big New York Giants fan, and Noah liked to figure out how things worked mechanically.
Family, friends and townspeople streamed out of two funeral homes after the services and then headed for two cemeteries.
Outside Noah's service, well-wishers placed two teddy bears, white flowers and a single red rose at the base of a maple tree. At Jack's, hymns rang out from inside.
The Connecticut Funeral Directors Association has announced that funerals have been scheduled for seven of the Connecticut school shooting victims.
The funeral for 6-year-old Jessica Rekos is Tuesday.
On Wednesday, there will be funerals for 7-year-old Daniel Barden and 27-year-old teacher Victoria Soto.
Services will be held on Thursday for 6-year-old Catherine Hubbard.
A private service has been planned for 6-year-old Dylan Hockley. No date was announced.
