Columbus Police said they had one man in custody after an hours long chase Thursday morning.

Officers said around 9:30 p.m. they tried to serve a felony warrant for the suspect. That's when the man jumped into a car and sped away.

Police called in back-up, and the officers and a police helicopter started chasing the man.

After traveling through several city streets, CPD decided to deploy spikes onto High Street in south Columbus.

The suspect hit the spikes, which disabled his vehicle. Officers say the man pulled over and jumped out of the car, running into nearby woods.

Police captured the man around 11:00 p.m. after a short foot chase.

Officers say the man will face additional charges because of the chase.
