Vandals Target Emergency Responders
Emergency responders sought help in finding the people responsible for vandalizing vehicles.
Medics said that vandals targeted Village Hall and several cars while employees were out keeping residents safe.
Sterling Joint Fire District medics Loretta Story and Christy Taylor said that their cars were targeted early Tuesday morning.
Story had an obscenity keyed into the hood of her car.
“Back of my vehicle, the emblem, the Honda emblem is missing,” Story said.
Taylor said that after the vandals keyed her car, they tried to let the air out of her tires. The vandals only managed to get away with the tire cap.
“To attack somebody's brand new car that they've waited 13 years to get and don't even have the license plate on it, it’s pretty upsetting,” Taylor said.
Investigators believed the same vandals damaged another car several blocks away. The vandals spray-painted the back window of the another car.
As investigators work to catch those responsible, Story is bracing for the bill.
“It’s going to the body shop tomorrow morning,” Story said.
The medics said that all of the cars damaged were less than a year old.
