The child was struck late Saturday in the 2600 block of Wicklow Road West.
He was in critical condition. 10TV has now learned the family received some good news from Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He has now been upgraded from critical condition.
The boy's grandmother says Cohen's parents had hot dogs on the grill Saturday. The two year old was standing on the back porch waiting for his plate when he was shot.
The mother called 911 and told dispatchers her son was shot in the back. It was unknown where the bullet came from or who the intended target was.
Cohen's grandmother tells 10TV she came home last Monday only to discover at least four bullet holes in the front of her house.
Cohen was hit by a bullet five days later.
Family members say they don't believe anyone is targeting their house specifically.
They fear their home is caught in the crossfire as a result of increasing neighborhood violence.
