Teen Taken Into Custody After Amber Alert Points Authorities In Direction Of 2 Juveniles' Bodies

Putnam County Sheriff’s officials said Thursday evening that a teen who was taken into custody in Columbus after an Amber Alert was issued Thursday morning alerted authorities to the bodies of two juveniles.

The Amber Alert was issued around 11 a.m. for Blake Aaron Romes, 17, Michael Aaron Fey, 17, and Blaine Romes, 14, of Putnam County.

The Amber Alert was canceled after authorities located the vehicle the teens were thought to be driving at a gas station on West Broad Street.

Officials told 10TV that one person was detained from that vehicle, but would not identify the individual.

According to a witness at the scene, a 16 or 17 year old walked into the gas station and asked for directions to Belle Street. He left the gas station and then was taken into custody by police.

Putnam County authorities said the bodies of two of the three were located on Thursday evening after the teen in custody alerted them to the locations of the bodies. Multiple agencies were investigating.

Autopsies would be conducted on the two to determine their cause of death.
