Teen Hospitalized After South Columbus Shooting

Columbus fire officials said a juvenile was taken to Grant Medical Center after a shooting in south Columbus Tuesday afternoon.

According to officials, the teen was shot in a leg along the 1200 block of Wager Street shortly after 4 p.m.

The condition of the juvenile hospitalized was not immediately released, but police at the shooting scene said that the boy was expected to survive.

Police at the scene said that the boy, who was 14 or 15, was at a U-Haul store, when some sort of fight broke out.

After being shot, the boy ran to the location along Wager Street where he was found.

Police said they were searching for a 50-year-old man in connection with the shooting. The name of the man was not immediately released.
