A man wanted in connection with an Amber Alert issued earlier this week was taken into custody on the Far East side.

Antone D. Jones was arrested at a hotel near Scarborough Boulevard and Brice Road on Friday afternoon.

Jones, 29, was wanted after allegedly abducting 4-year-old boy from a home at 930 Ellsworth Avenue. During the incident, the boy's mother jumped from a second floor window to escape from Jones.

The child was found safe at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, just hours after the Amber Alert was issued.

Special Victims Bureau detectives filed charges against Jones that include one count of kidnapping.

Additional charges could be filed.

In addition to the kidnapping charge, Jones has active warrants for driving without an operator's license, two counts of domestic violence, two counts of assault and one count of burglary.
