Suspect Leads Columbus Police On Chase

A southeast Columbus neighborhood awakened to gunfire early Monday morning.

The shots were fired in the 1600 block of Omar Drive, near Frank Road around 3:30 a.m.

Some officers were dealing with a domestic violence report at the same house when the shots rang out.

Police said the man involved hid his weapon then ran off.  Officers tracked him down to Jonathan Drive.  They finally caught up to him at Burley Drive and arrested him.

Officers also arrested a woman they said was involved in the situation.  Police said neither person was cooperating.

The man was expected to be charged with failure to identify, resisting arrest and possibly domestic violence charges, among others.
