Suspect In July Murder Held On $1 Million Bond

A man has been charged with murder in connection with a July shooting.

Maurice Deshaun Hale was held in jail on Friday on $1 million bond.

Hale is accused of shooting and killing Marvin Johnson in the 1100 block of 12th Avenue on July 25.

According to court documents, Johnson and Hale got into an argument, and Johnson pulled a handgun and fired shots into the air.

Hale also pulled a gun, and fired several shots at Johnson as he turned away to run, court documents stated.

Hale said that he was there at the time of the shooting but had nothing to do with it.
