Suspect Indicted For Stabbing Homeless Man More Than 100 Times
A prosecutor says a man accused of killing a homeless man who was stabbed over 100 times has been indicted on murder and assault charges in southwest Ohio.
Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. says a grand jury indicted 27-year-old Curtis Gray, of Dayton, on Friday on multiple counts of murder and felonious assault.
Heck says Gray is charged in the Oct. 10 fatal stabbing of Daniel Mooty. The prosecutor said in a release that police responded to a 911 call about a man screaming and arrested Gray just minutes after arriving at the scene.
Court records did not list an attorney for Gray.
He was in jail Friday and scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday. Bail was set at $500,000.
The prosecutor did not comment on a possible motive.
