State Route 104 is back open in Pickaway County after a Wednesday afternoon crash that resulted in an ethanol leak.

The Environmental Protection Agency worked to clean up the 2,000 gallons of hazardous material from leaking any further into the soil. They built a dam to prevent the spill from contaminating the Scioto River.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said a Circleville truck driver was moving south on SR104 through Pickaway County when the tanker stuck a guardrail after a curve.

The rig flipped and the fuel tank was punctured.

Troopers said the driver does not have any previous incidents and they do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

Due to the flammable spill SR104 was closed from State Route 316 to Walker Road for several days.
