Squirrel Causes Power Outage


Thousands of people were in the dark Monday evening in Northwest Columbus.
American Electric Power reported 6,100 outages around 8:30 p.m.
AEP said a squirrel caused a transformer to blow at the substation on Bethel Road near Sawmill Road.
The power company estimated that power would be restored by 10:30 p.m. Monday.
