Urbana Police charged a son in the murder of his 65-year-old father.

On Sunday night, officers found Jerald Myers dead in his house located in the 500 block of Kenton Street.

Detectives spent Monday investigating inside the house and taking pictures on the outside.

Urbana Police Chief Matt Lingrell said Christopher Lee Myers, 38, is charged with murdering his father. The charges were filed after results of an autopsy were given to police. Police did not say what the autopsy revealed or how Jerald Myer was killed.

Christopher Myers is also charged with felony assault and domestic violence. Police said he fought with his younger brother outside the home shortly after their father's body was discovered Sunday night.

Christopher Myers remains in the Tri-County Jail and will face a judge Tuesday.
