A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued for most of central Ohio beginning Sunday at 6:00 a.m. Skies will start out mostly clear this evening with partly cloudy skies expected by morning. Temperatures will drop into the middle to upper teens overnight.
A storm system moving out of the Gulf Coast States will move into the Ohio Valley on Sunday. This storm will spread light snow into central Ohio Sunday morning. Snowfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches will be possible with a few spots getting higher amounts, mainly southeast of Columbus. As warmer air moves in Sunday afternoon, the light snow will mix with sleet and freezing rain. A light coating of ice will be possible Sunday afternoon into the evening. Temperatures will likely climb above freezing late Sunday night allowing for precipitation to fall as just rain before ending early Monday morning.
Skies will clear Monday night as the winter storm moves away. Colder air will move back into Ohio with temperatures falling into the teens by Tuesday morning. The coldest air of the season will be in place across Ohio for the middle of next week with high temperatures only in the teens to low 20's Wednesday and Thursday and overnight lows as cold as the single digits. Temperatures will slowly moderate by next weekend.

Inconvenient Weather: Light snow will develop Sunday morning and continue into the afternoon. Around 1-2” of snow will be possible in central Ohio. Higher amounts will be possible across southeast Ohio. Light snow will mix with freezing rain and sleet by early evening where a coating of ice is possible. Temperatures should rise above freezing late Sunday night, allowing for improving conditions by early Monday morning. Slick roads will be likely, especially by dark Sunday.
