Serial Restaurant Robbers Target Grove City Restaurant

Police are looking for men who robbed restaurant employees at a Golden Corral in Grove City on Sunday.

Authorities said the restaurant, in the 2000 block of Stringstown Road, was robbed around 10:50 p.m. on April 7.

Police said robbers wore bandanas to cover their faces and one had a shotgun.

In a witness statement, the manager said the robber was “holding, what appeared to be a shotgun” and told him to "tie up (an employee) with zip ties, and give him money from the safe, roughly $800."

No employees were hurt, but the thieves got away with the cash.

Employees said they saw the criminals running past a nearby McDonalds and toward an apartment complex, but once officers arrived, they said they saw no one in the area matching the description.

Restaurant employee Paul Young said he did what the criminals told him to do, but called police once he got away.

“I did fear for my life. Only thing I could think about is my kids,” said Young.

A Grove City detective said she learned of several similar recent robberies at Golden Corrals, Bob Evans, and Cracker Barrels in the greater Cincinnati and Kentucky areas.

Employees at a Fricker's near Dayton also told police they faced two masked men with zip ties, and a shot gun.

Anyone who may have witnessed this robbery or recognized the men in the video is asked to call the Grove City Police Department at 614-277-1710.
