The ramps from I-270 South to I-70 in both directions were closed on the west side of Columbus early Tuesday morning due to a semi truck fire.

The fire started around 3:00 a.m.

Columbus Police said they were not sure what the driver hit, but the impact caused diesel fuel to spill across the freeway.

Firefighters decided to let the fire burn out.

No one was hurt.

Police arrested the truck driver and planned to charge with OVI.

Traffic was detoured from I-270 South to Broad Street.  Drivers were then directed to loop around.

The ramp to I-70 West reopened around 5:30 a.m.

The ramp to I-70 East reopened about an hour later.
