Semi Crash, Fuel Spill Shut Down Part Of I-70 In Downtown Columbus

I-70 westbound was closed Saturday morning after a crash involving at least one semi truck.

The crash happened shortly before 4 a.m. on I-70 between West Broad Street and I-670.

The semi caught fire and spilled 100 gallons of fuel on the freeway.

Police shut down that stretch of I-70 in both directions.  Columbus Police said the eastbound lanes were reopened around 5:15 a.m. and the westbound lanes reopened around 8:25 a.m.

There were no reports of injuries in the crash.
