A stretch of I-270 West was closed Wednesday morning after a semi crashed into a bridge.

The crash happened around 5 a.m. near the U.S 23 North exit in south Columbus.

Authorities say a FedEx truck hit a support beam underneath the flyover ramp.

The truck began leaking fuel.  The Environmental Protection Agency was called to the scene.

Authorities decided to close I-270 West at the U.S. 23 North exit until the jacknifed truck could be removed.

There is no word on how long the freeway will be closed.
