Hilliard Police say  a Hilliard Bradley High School janitor alerted them to a senior prank in progress.

The custodian called officers to the school on Walker Road around 2:30 a.m. Friday.  He told dispatchers that kids were vandalizing the football stadium with paint.

The students ran off as the janitor approached them.

When police arrived on scene they discovered students had used chalk to draw on stadium walls.

Officers say they quickly located a vehicle belonging to one of the seniors involved in the prank.  They tracked down the owner of the SUV and confronted two senior students about the incident.

Those students agreed to clean up the mess.  Police say no charges are expected to be filed but officers are unhappy about the waste of manpower.

Hilliard Police tweeted: 2 Officers tied up for 3hrs w/a student prank-Bradley HS. What a waste of manpower...rather be fighting real crime.Kids caught & cleaning!

The school district has not yet commented on the incident.
