The Salvation Army of Central Ohio hopes to cash in on two rare coins dropped in a red kettle recently.

Salvation Army workers found the two Canadian coins in a kettle in west Columbus.

The coins are originally valued at just five cents each, but one is from 1924, one is from 1929.

The Salvation Army plans to have the coins appraised.

Lieutenant Pierson Vincent told 10TV he thinks they will be valued in the hundreds of dollars range.

The Salvation Army is behind where they want their donations to be for the holiday season so far.
