Robbery Victim Dies After West Columbus Shooting

Homicide detectives were called to a scene on the west side of Columbus following a shooting on Thursday.

The shooting occurred around 2 p.m. on the 1000 block of Cliff Creek Drive.

The victim, Thomas Burns, 52, was taken to Mount Carmel West Hospital, and later died.

Officers believe the shooting may have occurred out of a robbery.

Police were searching for a suspect described as a male black wearing a white shirt and jeans. He’s around 5’ 6” tall and weighs around 180 pounds.
