The Reynoldsburg City Council could decide Tuesday to increase water and sewer rates for the city.
The proposed six percent increase would take effect in January.
The Superintendant for Reynoldsburg’s Water and Sewer Department told WBNS-10TV that part of the increase is needed to cover additional costs for water service.
Reynoldsburg purchases water from Columbus. Reynoldsburg officials said that Columbus is now charging the city more.
The other part of the hike would cover new pipe installation in the city.
