Reward Offered In Whitehall Cold Case Murder
Crimestoppers is trying to help drum up new leads in a cold case murder in Whitehall.
Rande Neff was shot to death in his Whitehall condo Christmas Eve.
"She talked to him the Wednesday before and he was planning on coming over," said Doug Neff.
"He was wonderful on the phone, said oh yeah, I'll definitely be there Christmas," said Carol Neff.
Rande Neff never showed up at his brother's house Christmas Day. The Wednesday before was the last time they talked to him.
"We just don't understand what happened," said Doug Neff, "All they could tell us is he died of a gunshot wound."
He was found Christmas Eve, dead in his condo. It's not the sort of thing that's ever happened in the Neff family and nothing they expected to happen to Rande.
"He had a heart of gold, he'd give the shirt off his back," said Doug Neff.
Neff points to a picture the two of them gave their parents for their 50th anniversary.
"They never had a picture of us together as adults and that was his idea," said Doug Neff.
Neff describes Rande as a hard worker. His brother says he was employed for years at the Kroger distribution center. Rande did have one prior drug offense, but the family never knew drugs to be an issue.
"There was no drugs found at the house, so we don't know," said Doug Neff, "I wish somebody would come forward. Somebody's got to know something."
