Retailers Offer Free Shipping Day To Get Orders Into Customers Hands By Christmas
More than 950 stores offered free shipping for online sales on Wednesday, and they promised gifts would be delivered by Christmas.
“Free shipping day was started back in 2008 when we realized that online shopping really dropped in early December because people were afraid that their orders wouldn't arrive in time for Christmas,” said Kendal Perez, FreeShippingDay.com.
Kmart, Nordstrom, JC Penny, Express, Levis, Zappos and Vera Bradley were just a handful of the stores taking part in the offer.
Many of the stores were also offering additional discounts.
"For example at Eddie Bauer and J Crew, you can get free shipping on all orders plus 30 percent off - so there are some really great deals to be had,” added Perez.
No matter what you're looking for, you could ship it for free on Wednesday.
Some of the stores require that you to put in a coupon code. You can find those on the FreeShippingDay website. All of the offers expire at midnight.
