Rally Raises Awareness For Missing Ohio Woman
Buoyed by three women found alive recently after disappearing about a decade ago, supporters of another missing woman in Cleveland hope a weekend rally raised awareness.
A Sunday rally and balloon release to mark Ashley Summers' 20th birthday was the latest effort to try to find her. She disappeared on July 9, 2007, at age 14.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports her mother, grandparents and about 50 other relatives, friends and neighbors gathered in a shopping center parking lot to show that Ashley hasn't been forgotten.
The crowd was reminded how similar Ashley's case is to that of the three women found alive recently after being held captive in a house. Fifty-two-year-old Ariel Castro pleaded not guilty last week to a 329-count indictment in the case.
