The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Winter Storm Watch that is active until 12/7/2013 6:00:00 AM for the following counties Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Hocking, Madison, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Preble, Ross, and Warren

Scattered showers will develop through the evening hours with temperatures remaining mild tonight. Overnight lows will hold in the 50’s. Rainfall amounts overnight will be light. Rain will be likely Thursday morning with a break possible midday. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible across southern Ohio Thursday night into Friday where a Flood Watch has been issued..
Much colder air will begin to filter into the state late by Thursday night, allowing for rain to mix with sleet and snow, mainly north and west of I-71. The wintry mix will gradually push southeast through the day Friday with snow likely across most of central Ohio Friday night. An area of moderate to heavy snow will be possible near and north of I-70 with sleet and freezing rain likely south of I-70 Friday night. Road conditions will likely become increasingly hazardous through the day Friday and especially after dark Friday evening. The precipitation should come to an end by early Saturday morning with highs only in the 20’s. Another winter storm will move into central Ohio by Sunday afternoon.

More widespread rain will develop Thursday afternoon and become heavy, especially across southern Ohio Thursday night into Friday. Much colder air will start to filter in Thursday night allowing for rain to mix with snow and sleet northwest of I-71. The wintery mix will move southeast through the day Friday with snow expected across most of central Ohio by late Friday afternoon. Significant snow and ice accumulations will be possible through Friday night.
