Public Hearing Held For Proposed Truck Stop In Chillicothe
Residents raised concerns about a proposed truck stop during a public hearing Monday night.
Company officials are seeking a rezoning request to put a Pilot Travel Center on 10 acres of land at 1111 East Main St. in Chillicothe.
Residents are concerned the truck stop will create more traffic congestion and could force some gas stations out of business.
A company representative says a study shows the traffic levels would stay about the same.
The company also say the project will create at least 70 to 75 new jobs.
Chillicothe City council will hold another public hearing on a rezoning request on Jan 14.
