The West Jefferson Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a paraglider crash in Madison County.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office called troopers around a possible plane crash in the 3700 block of West Jefferson Kiousville Road in Lilley Chapel around 7:45 p.m.

Troopers found the pilot, Christopher R. Baker, 32, and his damaged paraglider. Troopers said Baker, who is from Columbus, crashed the powered paraglider into a tree when he tried to takeoff. He got five feet off the ground when an unknown mechanical problem occurred.

Baker was not hurt in the crash.
